Tom Segal

Grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota, received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, went on to earn a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago, where he studied under well-known architect Stanley Tigerman. His first job was as a residential architect at Frye, Gillan, Molinaro Architects in Chicago where he focused on interiors. He next worked for the late designer Paul Granata. He opened his own firm in 1995 and merged it with David Kaufman’s firm a year later. He has served as past president of the Board of Trustees of Harrington College of Design in Chicago, and continues to serve on that school’s board as secretary. He has also volunteered at the Howard Brown Health Center, Chicago House, Diffa Dining by Design, Open Hand Chicago and Aids Quilt Presentation. He loves clean contemporary furnishings with a few traditional accents or unexpected details.
